Landscaper and gardener Jobs in Sweden for EU Citizens: No Work Permit Needed (2026)

Who this page is for. You are a citizen of an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland - or you are from Ukraine and registered under temporary protection. In both cases you may take up work in Sweden without a work permit, and the employer files nothing for you. For EU, EEA and Swiss citizens that is free movement of workers; for Ukrainians under temporary protection it is immediate access to the labour market, currently until 4 March 2028. If you are from outside the EU and not under protection, this page is not about you - the page for foreign workers is.
Working outdoors in this trade means shaping and maintaining living spaces, from private gardens to large public parks. Your typical day involves planting trees and shrubs, tending flower beds, mowing lawns, pruning, and setting up or repairing hardscape features like stone pathways and patios. You might work for a specialized landscaping contractor, a municipal parks department, a property maintenance firm, or directly for clients who value a well-kept outdoor environment. The work requires physical stamina, a good eye for detail, and the ability to handle standard tools and machinery in all kinds of weather.
When searching for opportunities, you will find that employers look for people with practical experience, reliability, and a solid understanding of plant care or groundskeeping techniques. Language skills can be helpful, especially when dealing directly with homeowners, but many crews operate in multicultural environments where a hands-on approach and a strong work ethic matter most. Because the climate brings distinct seasonal shifts, the nature of the tasks changes throughout the year, moving from spring preparation and summer upkeep to autumn cleanup and winter property care.

You apply yourself; nothing about you goes anywhere unless you press a button next to one advert and ask us to send your CV.
What employers in Sweden tend to ask for
Registration. Register your address with the local authority once you arrive - that is the same step a national takes when moving house, and it is what unlocks a tax number and a bank account.
Pay
We do not print wages on this page. The adverts we collect do not carry them reliably, and a number we could not stand behind would be worse than none. Pay in Sweden is set by collective agreements in most of these trades; the employer's advert, or the union for the sector, is where the real figure is.
Nobody may charge you for this
You need no permit, so there is nothing for an agent to "arrange". If anyone asks you for money for a job in Sweden, for a contract, for a place in a queue or for paperwork that does not exist, walk away. Workuro is free for workers and always will be; an employer pays only if they want to open your contact details, and you can switch that off.
