Farm and agricultural worker Jobs in Sweden for EU Citizens: No Work Permit Needed (2026)

Working in agriculture across Sweden generally involves daily hands-on tasks such as planting, tending, and harvesting crops, or helping out with livestock care and farm maintenance. The work often requires spending long hours outdoors in changing weather, moving between different fields and barns, and using various types of farm machinery. Most of the farms offering these roles are family-run operations, local cooperatives, or larger commercial crop and dairy producers looking for reliable hands during peak seasons.

As an EU citizen or someone under temporary protection from Ukraine, you have the right to look for and take up employment here without needing any special sponsorship or immigration paperwork. Farm life can be physically demanding and is often located in rural areas where getting around requires some planning. Finding the right position takes time and effort, but stepping into this kind of work offers a chance to experience rural communities and build practical skills in a well-established agricultural sector.

What employers in Sweden tend to ask for

Registration. Register your address with the local authority once you arrive - that is the same step a national takes when moving house, and it is what unlocks a tax number and a bank account.

Pay

We do not print wages on this page. The adverts we collect do not carry them reliably, and a number we could not stand behind would be worse than none. Pay in Sweden is set by collective agreements in most of these trades; the employer's advert, or the union for the sector, is where the real figure is.
