Welder Jobs in Finland for EU Citizens: No Work Permit Needed (2026)

Who this page is for. You are a citizen of an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland - or you are from Ukraine and registered under temporary protection. In both cases you may take up work in Finland without a work permit, and the employer files nothing for you. For EU, EEA and Swiss citizens that is free movement of workers; for Ukrainians under temporary protection it is immediate access to the labour market, currently until 4 March 2028. If you are from outside the EU and not under protection, this page is not about you - the page for foreign workers is.
Working as a welder in Finland usually involves joining structural steel, piping, or heavy machinery components using methods like MIG, TIG, or stick welding. Shifts often take place in fabrication workshops, shipyards, or on construction and industrial sites, where reading technical blueprints, following strict safety standards, and inspecting your own welds are standard parts of the routine. Because winters are cold and dark, much of the heavy metal fabrication happens indoors, though outdoor assembly work on construction projects also happens throughout the year.
Openings for this trade are typically advertised by engineering firms, manufacturing plants, shipyards, and staffing agencies that supply specialized labor to larger industrial projects. Many of these employers look for reliable tradespeople who can pass practical welding tests and work safely alongside local teams. Taking the step to work here means adapting to standard Nordic workplace practices, where clear communication, punctuality, and a strong focus on quality and safety are expected from day one.
What is advertised right now
On 14 October 2026 our register holds 13 live welder vacancies in Finland that carry the employer's own application address. These are public adverts collected from the national job services; they are not ours and we do not stand between you and the employer.
Employers advertising at the moment include VPS Henkilöstöpalvelu Länsi-Suomi, Worknow Oy, Lavonia Oy, KeyStaff Oy, Wulff Works Oy, Wellpack.
90 welders are already in the Workuro register. Create a free profile and we send you the live adverts in your trade, with the address to apply to, as they appear. You apply yourself; nothing about you goes anywhere unless you press a button next to one advert and ask us to send your CV.
What employers in Finland tend to ask for
Registration. Register your address with the local authority once you arrive - that is the same step a national takes when moving house, and it is what unlocks a tax number and a bank account.
Pay
We do not print wages on this page. The adverts we collect do not carry them reliably, and a number we could not stand behind would be worse than none. Pay in Finland is set by collective agreements in most of these trades; the employer's advert, or the union for the sector, is where the real figure is.
Nobody may charge you for this
You need no permit, so there is nothing for an agent to "arrange". If anyone asks you for money for a job in Finland, for a contract, for a place in a queue or for paperwork that does not exist, walk away. Workuro is free for workers and always will be; an employer pays only if they want to open your contact details, and you can switch that off.
