Electrician Jobs in Sweden for EU Citizens: No Work Permit Needed (2026)

Who this page is for. You are a citizen of an EU country, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland - or you are from Ukraine and registered under temporary protection. In both cases you may take up work in Sweden without a work permit, and the employer files nothing for you. For EU, EEA and Swiss citizens that is free movement of workers; for Ukrainians under temporary protection it is immediate access to the labour market, currently until 4 March 2028. If you are from outside the EU and not under protection, this page is not about you - the page for foreign workers is.
Working as an electrician involves installing, maintaining, and repairing wiring, lighting, and control systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Your daily routine typically includes reading technical blueprints, running cables, connecting switchboards, troubleshooting electrical faults, and ensuring all work meets strict safety standards. You might find yourself working on new construction sites, upgrading older properties, or handling routine maintenance calls, often collaborating with other tradespeople on site.
Job openings are frequently posted by a variety of employers, ranging from independent local electrical contractors to large construction and facility management firms. Industrial plants and utility companies also hire tradespeople directly for ongoing plant maintenance and infrastructure projects. Depending on the company, you may work independently on service calls or as part of a larger crew on major building projects, requiring clear communication with project managers and clients.
What is advertised right now
On 14 October 2026 our register holds 76 live electrician vacancies in Sweden that carry the employer's own application address. These are public adverts collected from the national job services; they are not ours and we do not stand between you and the employer.
Employers advertising at the moment include BITAB El & Undertak AB, Solpulsen Energy Norden AB, BTP Sweden AB, Brand & Utrymningskontroll i Sverige AB, NISLA AB, Bro Underhåll & Service BUS AB.
The work is in Strängnäs, Södertälje, Malmö, Solna, Stockholm, Trollhättan and elsewhere.
87 electricians are already in the Workuro register. Create a free profile and we send you the live adverts in your trade, with the address to apply to, as they appear. You apply yourself; nothing about you goes anywhere unless you press a button next to one advert and ask us to send your CV.
What employers in Sweden tend to ask for
Registration. Register your address with the local authority once you arrive - that is the same step a national takes when moving house, and it is what unlocks a tax number and a bank account.
Pay
We do not print wages on this page. The adverts we collect do not carry them reliably, and a number we could not stand behind would be worse than none. Pay in Sweden is set by collective agreements in most of these trades; the employer's advert, or the union for the sector, is where the real figure is.
Nobody may charge you for this
You need no permit, so there is nothing for an agent to "arrange". If anyone asks you for money for a job in Sweden, for a contract, for a place in a queue or for paperwork that does not exist, walk away. Workuro is free for workers and always will be; an employer pays only if they want to open your contact details, and you can switch that off.
